Last week I presented (re-presented?) the vision of SummitLIFE:

To LIVE IN COMMUNITY with GOD, ONE ANOTHER, and OTHERS (who don’t know God…yet), that we might welcome the community of Sedona into community with God, one LIFE at a time.

Yes, I make it a habit of re-presenting the vision of SummitLIFE…again, and again, and again.  Why?  Because, “If Vision isn’t Driving Everything, then Everything is Driving Vision.”  Vision is what enables us to say “Yes” to some things, and “No” to others…if it doesn’t, then it isn’t a very good vision.

Along with re-presenting the vision regularly, I also strive to represent it in my own life.  After all, if the vision isn’t livable, it’s not much of a vision, and if it isn’t worth living, then it’s not a worthy vision!  I’ll share a little taste of my living the vision from this past week, and I invite you to do the same by leaving a reply!

  • LIVING IN COMMUNITY with GOD: This past week I began the majority of my days (I confess…it wasn’t every day) by spending some time with two of my favorite things…my Bible and my java 🙂  Rabbis teach that time in prayer is good because it’s time spent talking to God, but that time in the Scriptures is better, because it is God speaking to us.
  • LIVING IN COMMUNITY with ONE ANOTHER: I had the privilege of enjoying Taco Tuesday at The Javelina Cantina with my bride, Michelle, and newfound friend/drummer/designer, Dan Turner (you can check out his sites HERE & HERE).  Michelle and I have been married for 20+ years & Dan and I have known one another for less than 3 months…and yet, during a 50 minute lunch I have the privilege of getting to know both of them better!  Yep, LIFE-TOGETHER is the better way to do life.
  • LIVING IN COMMUNITY with OTHERS (who don’t know God…yet): All sorts of opportunities present themselves throughout my typical week, and I’m grateful for each one.  This week’s highlight, however, fit right in with SummitLIFE’s weekend gathering, “The Other Side” (the gist of the lesson was this: We’ve each got US/THEM categories in our lives and Jesus’ love should compel US to venture to the “other side”).  Actually, my prep for the weekend gathering is what compelled me to attend the Sedona/Verde Valley Gay-Pride Festival in Cottonwood.  Interestingly, Michelle and I bumped into a few people that we know…go figure.  It’ll be interesting to see how God uses that experience and those interactions to further His Kingdom 😉

What steps did YOU take to live out the vision of SummitLIFE this past week???
