YESTERDAY was a unique Gathering, indeed! It was initially planned to be unique in that we were exercising and teaching SummitLIFE’s value of SIMPLICITY by scaling back a bit…a couple acoustic guitars, less bells and whistles, and MUCH less set-up & tear-down.
It was the final week of our series, HOME RUN LIFE, and the focus was on being a franchise player, bringing it HOME for the glory of God. Rather than driving up our batting average, RBIs, slugging percentage, etc. to build a reputation for ourselves, filling our own trophy case, we’re supposed to bring it HOME, building His reputation and putting our trophies and awards on display in the Franchise Clubhouse (i.e. Heaven / Check out Matthew 16:19-21 for details).
Just before Gathering was about to begin, I was approached by a couple that are without doubt SummitLIFERS. They shared their desire to acknowledge via vows before our Community what they had already acknowledged before God: their Marriage Commitment to one another. There they stood, Marriage License in hand: “If you could squeeze it in somewhere, that would be awesome. If not, we understand.” (Yes, these folks get the vision!)
David…Your soul-filled expression and the couples faces smiling with eyes deeply looking at one another are no doubt glory and worship and belief in all things sacred. Peace & Blessings, Dawn
