This past weekend’s gathering marked week #3 in SummitLIFE’s Masquerade series.  Throughout the series we’ve been discussing the different masks that so many of us tend to wear throughout our day/week/lives.  The challenge: TAKE OFF THE MASKS.

Honestly, this is far more than a series.  This is who we desire to be as a community.  We desire to be a community in which each of us can be ourselves…no masks, no deception, no “putting on a face”, no lies…a “take me as I am” sort of community.  A community characterized by love, acceptance, and forgiveness, where broken, incomplete, imperfect people can come together, shed the masks, and experience…

…LIFE more ABUNDANT!!!

I’m committed to leading SummitLIFE to become just such a community…and this past weekend I tested the waters a bit by putting myself out there.  How did I “put myself out there”, you ask?  Well, just in case you missed the gathering (or maybe you’re one of those that’s been keeping up with SummitLIFE from a distance), I shared that I’ve had struggles with pornography in the past (more on that HERE).  See, despite society’s misconceptions regarding the existence of “perfect pastors” & what a “real Christian” should look like, the truth is that none of us is perfect…THAT’S WHY WE NEED JESUS.  You’re not perfect, that guy or girl that you think is perfect isn’t perfect, Uncle Bill who thinks he’s perfect isn’t perfect, and I’m definitely not perfect.

If you’re looking for a perfect community, SummitLIFE isn’t it.  But, if you’re looking for a community of people committed to taking off the masks & living LIFE TOGETHER, loving and helping one another along despite our imperfections, welcome to the family.  We gather Sundays at The Elk’s Lodge at 10AM and at various locations throughout the Verde Valley all throughout the week, celebrating & living LIFE TOGETHER.  Join us!
