…is 70% an acceptable goal???  70%…

…is passing…earns the degree…is average…means greater success than failure…puts your team in the playoffs…more than puts the president in the Whitehouse.  So, it should be “acceptable”…even admirable, right?!?

Heading into SummitLIFE’s Spring LIFEgroup session, we initially discussed how “successful” it would be to have a 70% participation rate among SummitLIFERs.  That number (or percentage) seemed a “reasonable” goal…something worth striving for…until I was standing in front of our community during last week’s Gathering.

“We have a goal…” I began…

…with the number 70% poised on my lips.  My tongue wouldn’t let the number go.  [pause…question in my mind] Is that the best we can do?  Is that what God is striving for?!?  Do we serve an “I’ll give you 70%” sort of God?!? [answer in my mind] No.  We serve a God who gave it ALL…

…a 100% sort of God…

…and we can offer NO LESS.  And we definitely shouldn’t aim for less, knowing that He’s behind us (and in front of us…and with us…) 100%.

“…and that goal,” I continued, “is 100% participation in our Spring LIFEgroup session!

Why would we aim for less?!?”

[QUESTION] Which LIFEgroup Community are YOU going to be a part of???
