Man, oh man…  Just another reason for us all to have a touch of a ‘man-crush’ on Pete Wilson & his leadership!  For the full effect, READ PETE’S POST FIRST.

Basically, an attendee to CrossPoint (where Pete is Lead Pastor) posted a remark regarding the ‘over-the-top’ use of lights, sound, and video in their services…to which Pete responded.  Read on…

Pete, the services at CP are often way too loud and way too theatrical for my taste. I’ve talked to others who share my view. Sometimes the videos and music are just way too much and over the top for a church. And, btw I do think you often need a haircut…just a little too slick sometimes buddy!

No worries Joe. Last time I checked there were a couple thousand churches in Nashville. :) While we would love to have you at CP you’ve often heard me say it’s not for everyone.
I would encourage you to find a church where you can worship without the distractions you mentioned.
I’m friends with tons of local pastors and would be more than happy to help you make that connection if you want.
There’s way too many important issue in this world for us to focus on than for us Christians to be fighting over lights and how loud the music is.

Pete’s response is an example of one of the things that helps to keep CrossPoint on point with their vision.  Tasteful, generous, yet firm…  Kudos, Pete!

I’m considering saving the link to Pete’s post because I have a feeling that it may come in handy in the future 😉  And the haircut remark?!?!  Boy, can I relate!!!
