To date, this new community of believers that refers to itself as SummitLIFE, have had a total of 3 official home gatherings, each of them having the same emphases (yes, that’s the plural of emphasis):

  1. Eat TOGETHER.
  2. Worship TOGETHER.
  3. Learn TOGETHER.                  (Singular Emphasis = TOGETHER.)
  4. Pray TOGETHER.
  5. Dream TOGETHER.

Week #1 we asked, “Why COMMUNITY?”  Answer: Because we’re created BY Community, FOR Community, FOR THE SAKE OF the Community (details here).  We welcomed a total of 12 to our gathering.

Week #2 roughly DOUBLED the size of our community from 12 to 23!  Relationships and word of mouth are, without question, a powerful gift that God’s given each of us the privilege of exercising!  Not to mention, prayer.  Honestly, God was the One behind all of the connections that took place between week#1 & week #2.  We had a lot of people praying that God would send “workers into the harvest field” (Luke 10:2), and He responded in AWESOME ways!  A HUGE thanks to those of you that were praying…and to those who continue to pray today!  Keep it up 😉  The natural thing to discuss in this second gathering was that we are the KINGDOM of GOD among the community of Sedona!  That’s right, the Kingdom is here and the Kingdom is now (as well as “to come”), and it’s appearing in little hints & clusters throughout Sedona.  One of those clusters just happens to be the community of SummitLIFE!  THIS sums up that gathering.

Which brings us to today, reflecting upon Week #3’s gathering.  This morning Michelle and I sat together, talked a bit about the weekend, and dreamed about what the future might hold…about how God is on the move and about how we believe He’s gonna continue to move among the community of SummitLIFE for the benefit of the community of Sedona.  I think about how CRaZy it is that God would choose to use a cluster of ragtag, thrown-together, diverse families, couples, and singles…but, then I’m reminded, that’s exactly who He used to give birth to this whole movement known as The Kingdom of God in the first place!  Fishermen, tax-collectors, sinners and the like were given a trust and sent out into the world for the purpose of changing it!  And though they doubted themselves, Jesus knew that they could accomplish what He had called them to accomplish…and so, here we are.

Twenty-eight gathered in our home this past Sunday…28, poised and positioned to welcome the community of Sedona into community with God, one LIFE at a time!

Care to join us?  Our next gathering will be this coming Sunday at 10AM…70 Borden Dr., Sedona, AZ.  We’ll eat TOGETHER, worship TOGETHER, learn TOGETHER, pray TOGETHER, and dream TOGETHER!!!  See you soon!
