Not a Fan – Week Six

Summary

Fans are in it for what they can get out of it.  Followers typically get more out of it than they ever put in.  What describes you in your spiritual quest?

The Bible tells us that Jesus’ followers were very excited about his miracles.  Then Jesus recognized that he had a large group of fans.  They were IN for Jesus as long as the buffet was open (watch this week to get a new perspective on the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand, or hear it for the first time).  A funny thing happened when Jesus told his fans that He was the only way to eternal life … they got out.

American Christianity is regularly taught as turn or burn. “Repent for the kingdom of Hell is at hand!”  But the words of Jesus tell us to repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand!  Are you a fan or a follower?
