Foundation Red – Week Four

Summary

It’s fun to ask religious people, “shall we condemn the non-believers?”  Because often they will say, “yes”  and what did Jesus say when he was here?  Jesus said, “no.”  Jesus even lived his answer by bringing the non-believers to dinner, going to their parties, & even stopping the jews from stoning the non-believers to death!  This, in turn, would create an opportunity for a relationship with Jesus, & ultimately His Father.  By Jesus’ example, here within the community of SummitLIFE you are welcome to belong before you ever believe.

Did you know that the definition of fear and worship are similar.  The bible calls upon us to “fear God.”  Not a fear of heights kind of way or a “GET ME OUT OF THIS CRAMPED ELEVATOR” kind of way, but in a respect and reverence kind of way.

Satan wants us to forget the promises of God, so that he can replace them with promises of His own.  It is no coincidence that in the book of Matthew, Satan promised Jesus the very same thing that God promised His people in the book of Deuteronomy.  God’s people want to hear that God will provide so Satan’s lie is that he will provide all these things in the verses from Deuteronomy.  Yet it is impossible for Satan to fulfill these promises. Satan says bow before me.  God says don’t forget to fear me.
